COP Polo Initiative

Alumni have the opportunity to purchase a Polo for the student pharmacists. Purchasing a polo for a student pharmacist is a great way to say your alumni care about you and also a way to say “Welcome to WesternU College of Pharmacy".

$25 – Gift a polo to a student
$50 – Gift a polo to two students
$100 – Gift a polo to half a team
$200 – Gift a polo to an entire team (8 student pharmacists)
$600 – Gift a polo to an entire pod (24 student pharmacists)

Dr. Sam Shimomura Scholarship Endowment

Dr. Sam Shimomura Scholarship Endowment

Dr. Sam dedicated his career to educating and mentoring students. The Sam Shimomura Endowed Scholarship provides support for student pharmacists interested in careers in hospital or health systems pharmacy with a focus in geriatrics.

During his 48 years of service as an educator, mentor and colleague, Sam has touched the lives of over 6,000 pharmacy students and residents. Dr. Sam will forever be remembered for his remarkable impact on pharmacy education and the profession.

The Philip Pumerantz Memorial Wind Sculpture

The College of Pharmacy is accepting contributions to commemorate the life and legacy of Founding President of Western University of Health Sciences, Philip Pumerantz. We want to honor the memory of President Pumerantz with a spinning helix (wind sculpture) that symbolizes the life-force and energy that he infused into this great institution for 38 remarkable years. The sculpture will be placed prominently in Ethan Allen Park where it will be highly visible to everyone visiting the College of Pharmacy and the entire WesternU Community.

Contributions of any size are welcome. Any contributions received in excess of our $3,500 goal will be used to support travel for our student professional organizations.

For P3 and P4 students with strong demonstrated financial need beyond financial aid.

Melanie S. Lim Memorial Endowed Scholarship

For pharmacy students with financial need. Current involvement in volunteer work and community service.

California Korean American Pharmacists Endowed Scholarship (CKAPha)

For pharmacy students with financial need that promotes and shares the ideals of the CKAPha and participate in association activities.

Indian Pharmacists Endowed Scholarship

For pharmacy students with financial need that promotes and shares the ideals of the Indian Pharmacists Association and participate in association activities.

GNP/ICP Endowed Scholarship

For P1 - P4 pharmacy students interested in Independent Community Pharmacy practice.

Sripriya Upadhyayula Patel Memorial Endowment Fund

The Sripriya (Priya) Upadhyayula Patel Memorial Endowed Scholarship has been established and will be presented annually to a College of Pharmacy student who, like Priya, has demonstrated exemplary service at the College, University and/or local and state levels, has participated in and displays a commitment to provide opportunities for underrepresented or disadvantaged populations, and has demonstrated a keen interest in the advocacy of the pharmacy profession. With the support of her family and friends, this scholarship will establish a permanent home for Priya’s legacy at WesternU.
